MCP Builder
MCP Builder is an Anthropic Agent Skill that guides Claude through building good MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, so an AI model can use an outside API or service through well-designed tools. It covers Python with FastMCP and Node/TypeScript with the MCP SDK.
Its 4-phase process
- Deep research and planning: study the API and plan the tools.
- Implementation: build the server, loading language-specific guides for Python or TypeScript.
- Review and test: check the server works and the tools are well designed.
- Create evaluations: write realistic, complex questions to test whether a model can use the server well, and run them with the bundled scripts.
- It's a skill folder (SKILL.md plus reference docs and scripts).
- For how to add skills in your Claude app or Claude Code, see the original listing.
- The skill doesn't declare a tool allowlist, so it uses whatever tools you've already allowed Claude. (from the source code, not the listing)
